This beach is ideal for families and has safe swimming with lifeguard cover in the summer months. There is also a good cafe at the beach providing snacks and refreshments. Beach facilities include disabled access, toilets (including disabled), refreshments and lifeguard cover during the summer months.

There are currently three independent award schemes covering beaches in South West England:

The Blue Flag award is the "Gold Standard" European wide award for very well-managed resort beaches that are clean, safe, offer a range of facilities and achieve excellent standards of bathing water quality.

The Seaside Award is a UK award for well-maintained resort and rural beaches that are clean, relatively safe and achieve good standards of water quality.

The Good Beach Guide is the only award that focuses entirely on bathing water quality and the risk of sewage pollution, rather than beach management. The recommended beaches in the Guide have achieved the highest water quality standards.
